With the main body of the epistle behind him, having offered the church at Rome the full force of his admonition, Paul now turns and offers them his heart in what we call the postscript to this remarkable letter. And in this offering, Paul commends this congregation as a strong self-policing body of believers filled with the goodness of knowledge of God, because this was a church that knew the Word of God. You don’t become a healthy church by following the council of all the church growth models and marketing experts out there, but rather you become a healthy church by simply pressing into the Word of God as the driving engine of your worship service to the glory of God.
