In a hard-hitting Chapter, the Apostle Paul takes up the believer’s relationship to the human governing authorities established by God. Now as beneficial or corrupt or mismanaged as any system of human government is, God has established these temporary systems of authority in order to prop up this fallen humanity bent on self-destruction – just long enough to extend the invitation of the Gospel to as many people as possible. There’s much more to this than we think. Along with the family and the church, human government is one of three institutions established and ordained by God in the Scriptures. Get your Word on with us this week, where we engage some very difficult text with thought provoking and penetrating questions, while remaining wholly resolute to rest and trust in our sovereign God.
