We may be able to get to the moon and wipe out polio and split the atom, but try as we may, we cannot stop aging and death. This week the writer of Hebrews tells us man is enslaved to the fear of death, either by trembling or ignorance. It’s why we spend so much of our money and energy trying to live just a little longer. And maybe for some of us death is way back there in our rear-view mirror, but as the sign in the mirror says – objects in mirror are closer than they appear. Make no mistake about it, death is on the move and is going to track each and every one of us down. And when it arrives, death will come to you as either an enemy or as a servant. As a friend or a foe. And how death comes to you, depends completely and solely upon one question and one question alone. WHAT SAY YOU OF CHRIST? Because Jesus the forerunner has gone before us and dismantled death, death holds no leverage over the children of God, and is now nothing more than a servant ushering us into eternal glory world without end. Get your Word on with us and make much of our great Savior and much of our great salvation!
