The writer of Hebrews gives a dual definition of faith in one of the most beloved verses in the Bible. But there is much more to this text than meets the eye! The writer defines faith as a commodity to be possessed – a settled reality in our hearts, that enables us to stand upon the truth of what God has said in His Word. You see FAITH serves the soul of the believer much in the same way our physical senses serve our body. Faith for the believer is the instrumentation; it is a GIFT from God – that takes those things far off and unseen – and brings them into the realm of the present and visible. It is FAITH that brings the certain reality of our future, into a kind of present possession for the soul. Get your Word on with us this week, where we will say with Jacob – “Surely the LORD is in this place, and I did not know it.”
