The writer of Hebrews rolls out some of the most difficult text in all of the Bible, and  yet it’s the difficult passages which often produce the greatest profit for the children of grace. The WRATH of God and the LOVE of God are often set against one another in the mind of man, but as a matter of biblical fact they are inextricably linked; indeed, they are inseparable. God has the same attitude towards sin that a Mother would have for a fatal disease that threatens her beloved family. What we must understand about the justice of God, is that even the slightest indifference to moral evil would render God less than infinitely and perfectly glorious, and He would cease to be God altogether. Indifference to evil is imperfection, and there is no imperfection in our white-hot thrice Holy God.
