In the stunning conclusion to the Epistle of First Peter, the Apostle lays out for us what produces a healthy Church.  Both leaders and followers are exhorted to dress themselves in humility, and be prepared for the attacks of the devil who seeks to steal our security in Christ.  What affords the believer the capacity to experience the fullness of joy, is to understand that the God of all grace that chose us and called us and saved us, IS ALSO THE GOD OF ALL GRACE that keeps us and preserves us and secures our future in glory.  Wherever the believer plugs their effort into any part of that equation, that is where the believer departs from the path of finding the unshakable all satisfying hope in the saving work of Christ.  Get your Word on with us and elevate Christ as supreme, that we might say with the Psalmist  – “Therefore my heart is glad and my whole being rejoices; my flesh also dwells SECURE.  For you make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forever more.”
