Peter pulls back the curtain on the astonishing activity taking place in the spiritual realm around the cross of Christ, in no doubt the most difficult passage in all of the New Testament to interpret; according to the consensus of scholars.  When you teach the Bible verse by verse, you don’t drive around passages like this, but rather you plow right through them.  The richness in this passage is extraordinary; perhaps only matched by the difficulty of the text  –  and yet if we take the opportunity to dive in deep here, we will come back up gloriously encouraged and enriched.  More often than not, it is the most difficult texts in the Word of God that afford the believer the greatest opportunity for wonder and reverence and awe.  Get your Word on with us this week, as we marvel over the extraordinary triumph of Christ over demons and death and sin.
