It is not a hopeless struggle in which the believer is engaged, but one in which victory is certain. Because God dwells outside of time, He often speaks to us in His written Word as if we have already been perfected. Now in His infinite view, that is exactly what the Gospel has accomplished. Our part now, is to simply walk by faith in what God is telling us is true. As Christians there is really no reason for us to be walking around living these defeated lives. The same grace that saved us from the penalty of sin, is ever available to save us from the power of sin and the influence of sin. If we will but walk in obedience to what God is telling us is true, we will make the wonderful discovery that God will meet us there and empower our wills unto victory.
