Oswald Chambers said “Prayer does not fit us for a greater work, prayer IS the greater work.”  There is very little you can do this week for the cause of the Kingdom of Christ that is more important than giving yourself over to prayer.  Now if your church told you they were hosting a world renown speaker or musical artist tonight, most of the church would find a way to attend.  And yet if our pastors announced “Well tonight we’re just going to gather and pray”  –  so few of us would attend we could probably gather in the mop closet.  We in the American church have lost the primacy and centrality of prayer to the Christian experience.  This week in Luke chapter 11, Christ teaches us how to recapture that, in some of the most well-known words Jesus ever spoke.
